Viola Da Gamba

Evlambia Vafiadis was an AMEB Grade 7 cello student when her teacher introduced her to early music and the viola da gamba. Seven years later, having completed a Diploma in Music under Miriam Morris, she enjoys playing with Trillo and others as often as possible. When not immersed in early music, she is attempting to unravel the mysteries of veterinary medicine, and has already discovered (seriously) that a surprising number of animals seem to like medieval music. She looks forward to many years of combining cattle guts and catgut!

Lute, Baroque Guitar & Theorbo

Casey studied early music performance practice at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) under the tutelage of Professor Stewart Smith (organ), Professor Geoffrey Lancaster (harpsichord/forte piano) and Dr Jonathan Paget (19th century guitar). He graduated from WAAPA in 2016 with first class honours and the dux recital mark. Casey is now based in Melbourne and continues to work closely with Lauren Burns - his partner and fellow early music enthusiast; together they bring the combined beauty of the lute and the voice to unassuming ears across Australia.
